This year’s DDC ‘18 with the “Transgression” as a motto, provides an opportunity for Ph.D. students to explore and develop their research interests at the crossroad between Design and other scientific areas. The organization of the conference invites Ph.D. students to submit their research papers within the following categories and challenges them to present out-of-the-box solutions and ideas on design for today and for the future:
- Interaction design and User-centered design
- Design for social innovation and sustainability
- Design principles and practices
- Envision Future
- Mapping Design
- Art and visual production
- Communication, culture, and consumption

Submission
In order to take part in the DDC’18, candidates should submit their full articles using the Easychair platform. Before submitting the full papers, the author must register as a user.

All the articles have to be written in English, up to 8 pages, including all paper components (references, appendices, acknowledgments, etc.).
References
References must use the [APA style]
Review
All the submitted articles will be evaluated by the scientific committee with a double-blind peer-review. All open access articles are published under Creative Commons Licence.
Publication
The presented works will be published in a digital proceeding book with ISBN, available after the conference.
The best 16 papers (by Editors choice) will be indicated for publication in a Special Issue of the “Ergodesign & HCI” journal, from the Arts & Design Department of PUC-Rio, Brazil – ISSN 2317-8876, which is indexed in CAPES.
